DuPage's Goss, Rahn secure highest awards, dozen Chaps earn All-American honors

The College of DuPage's run to a second consecutive NJCAA national championship has yielded some additional individual hardward for members of the Chaparrals. Freshman defensive back Guy Goss was named the 2022 NJCAA Division III Football Defensive Player of the Year, while coach Matthew Rahn was named the 2022 NJCAA Division III Football Coach of the Year. Additionally, 12 players were named to the 2022 NJCAA Division III Football All-America Teams, including six first team selections and second team recipients.

Goss led the Chaps with 65 tackles, which also placed him ninth nationally, and racked up three tackles for loss, one sack, four pass breakups, and a blocked punt returned for a touchdown. He was twice named NJCAA Division III Football Defensive Player of the Week.

Rahn guided the College of DuPage to a 9-2 record and a second national title in as many years as head coach. The Chaparrals outscored their opponents by a 293 points in their nine wins over other Division III opponents, and finished ranked #1 in the nation in four statistical categories: points scored, rushing yards, passing yards, and fumbles recovered.
