Kishwaukee's Lopez named NJCAA DII Player of the Week
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Kishwaukee College's Rudy Lopez as the Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week for November 26-December 3 (Week 5). The honor is the first for Lopez and the first of the season for the Kougars.
Lopez, a 6'0" guard, averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 assists, and 2.5 steals over two games during that span. The sophomore scored 26 points, dished out a career-best 14 assists, and collected four steals in a 112-62 win over NCAA Division III Loras College JV, and followed it up with a 22-point, six-assist effort as Kishwaukee defeated Oakton Community College, 79-73.
Lopez and the Kougars used the two wins to end a season-opening eight-game losing streak.
