Lake County's Collins tabbed NJCAA Player of the Week

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named the College of Lake County's Catoni' Collins as the Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week for January 29-February 4 (Week 12). The honor is the first of the season for the Lancers, and the first such accolade for Collins.

Collins, a 6'3" forward, averaged 33.0 points on 60% (30-50) shooting from the field and 15.0 rebounds in a pair of wins for Lake County. The freshman from Waukegan, Illinois, opened the week with a 32-point, 14-rebound effort in a 96-75 road win over McHenry County College, and followed it up with 34 points and 16 rebounds as the Lancers won 83-77 at home over Elgin Community College. He finished an identical 15 for 25 from the field in each game.

For the season, Collins is averaging 24.5 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists for the College of Lake County, which is 15-11 overall.
