Kishwaukee's Davis, Rock Valley's Kodom-Ayensu net NJCAA Player of the Week accolades

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has selected Luke Davis of Kishwaukee College and Nana Kodom-Ayensu of Rock Valley College as the Division II and Division III Men's Basketball Players of the Week, respectively, for November 12-18 (Week 3). The honor is the first of its kind for both Davis and Kodom-Ayensu, as well as for the Kougars and Golden Eagles programs this season.

Davis, a sophomore center, averaged 24.5 points and 16.0 rebounds over two games during the week. In a 91-82 victory at Moraine Valley Community College, the 6'8" and 260-pound Davis tallied season-high's with 26 points and 18 rebounds, to go along with six assists and six blocks. The Dekalb, Illinois, native followed it up with a 23-point, 14-rebound effort to guide the Kougars past the College of Lake County, 79-69. With the two double-doubles, Davis is averaging 19.1 points and 11.7 rebounds for Kishwaukee College (6-1), which has won five straight games.

Kodom-Ayensu, a redshirt sophomore center, put up 19.3 points and converted better than 80% of his shot attempts over a trio of victories for RVC. The 6'6" 225-pound Kodom-Ayensu opened the week with 13 points and 12 points in wins over McHenry County College and Elgin Community College, respectively. The week ended with a season-high 33-point effort at Owens Community College (OH). For the week, the Bolingbrook, Illinois, native made 25 of 31 shots and was 8 for 9 at the free throw line. He also added 25 rebounds, including a dozen as part of a double-double effort against Owens. Kodom-Ayensu is averaging 14.8 points and 8.2 rebounds for #10-ranked Rock Valley College (6-1), winners of six straight games.
