Black Hawk, Lake County, Madison, others compete at NJCAA Golf Championships

Three teams and several individual golfers represented Region IV at the NJCAA Division II and III Men's Golf Championships over the past few weeks.

At the DII National Tournament at Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, Black Hawk College finished sixth overall with a 1227 (+75) total after going 300-309-309-309 over four days of competition. College of Lake County posted a 1322 (+170) count to earn 18th place. Freshman Rielly McGranahan of BHC tied for 12th overall with a ten-over-par 298 after signing off on rounds of 70-75-78-75 to earn NJCAA Second Team All-American honors.

The DIII National Tournament was conducted at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, New York, and Madison College ended the week in 11th place with a 1394 (+242). Freshman Joe Cayer picked up NJCAA Second Team All-American accolades with a ninth-place finish at 22-over-par 310 after carding rounds of 76-76-80-78.
