Gomez of Malcolm X nabs NJCAA weekly honor

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has selected Cesar Gomez of Malcolm X College as the Division I Men's Soccer Player of the Week for September 3-9 (Week 2). The award is the first such honor for Gomez and the first of the season for the Hawks.

In back-to-back shutout wins over Bryant & Stratton College and Kishwaukee College, Gomez scored five goals (ten points) on nine shots. For the season, the freshman forward has tallied nine goals and one assist in helping the Hawks to a 5-1-1 start. Malcolm X College entered the season with a 22-match losing streak.
