Harper's Hassan named NJCAA DIII Player of the Week
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Harper College's Majeed Hassan as the Division III Men's Soccer Player of the Week for September 2-8 (Week 2). The honor is the first of its kind for Hassan, and the first this season for the Hawks.
Hassan, a freshman forward, tallied a perfect week with four shots on goal that all found the back of the net to help Harper College continue their unbeaten start to the season. Hassan registered a hat trick with three goal in a 8-0 defeat of Milwaukee Area Technical College, and followed it up with another scoring strike that proved to be the game-winner in a 5-1 victory at Madison College.
Hassan and the Hawks are 4-0 on the season, with all four wins coming in Region IV and North Central Community College Conference play. Harper College has jumped to #5 in the latest NJCAA Division III Poll.
Harper took a big jump in the rankings last week, largely due to Majeed Hassan's efficient offensive play for the Hawks.
