The five-time defending NJCAA Division III National Champions  Rock Valley College Golden Eagles, rebounded from an 0-3 start and have won seven straight games, including all six at the N4C Dome Jamboree from March 1-3. The success is due, in part, to the stellar play of sophomore Breanna Crown and freshman Megen Johnson, who swept the NJCAA DIII Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week awards for February 25-March 3 (Week 6).

Crown, a native of Davis Junction, Illinois, went 2-0 with wins over #9-ranked Madison College and Joliet Junior College. Against the WolfPack, the reigning Dudley® NJCAA DIII Softball Pitcher of the Year allowed three earned runs on six hits with three walks and five strikeouts in her six innings of work. She then set down seven batters via the K with three earned runs on six hits and two walks in five innings against the Wolves. Crown earned national pitcher of the week honors three times as a freshman.

Johnson, a Roscoe, Illinois, native, keyed the RVC offense with hits in four of the five games she played in, posting a .500 batting average on seven hits. Johnson amassed five extra base hits, including a home run in the win over Joliet Junior College, and finished the weekend with seven runs scored and five runs batted in.

The #1-ranked Golden Eagles open a 14-game, ten-day trip through Georgia, Alabama, and Florida today.
