Joliet's Phelps nabs NJCAA DIII Player of the Week
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Joliet Junior College's Ashley Phelps as the Division III Softball Player of the Week for March 25-31 (Week 10). The award is the first such honor for Phelps, and the first for the Wolves this season.
Phelps, a freshman infielder/pitcher from Morris, Illinois, registered a .600 batting average with 12 runs batted in as part of a 6-0 week for Joliet Junior College. She tallied 12 hits, including six for extra bases, and scored ten runs. For the season, Phelps is hitting .533 with 28 RBI, 22 runs scored, and three home runs.
The Wolves are 19-7 on the season.
