The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has selected Rock Valley College's Breanna Crown as the Division III Pitcher of the Week for May 6-12 (Week 16). The honor is the fourth of the year - and seventh of her career - for Crown, and marks the sixth such award for Rock Valley College this season.

Crown, a sophomore from Davis Junction, Illinois, posted two wins in leading the Golden Eagles to a seventh straight Region IV championship. During the round-robin portion of the Division III Tournament, Crown tossed eight innings in a 4-3 extra innings win over Joliet Junior College, allowing three runs on seven hits, four walks, and two strikeouts. In Sunday's winner-take-all second championship game, the reigning national pitcher of the year showed why with a seven-inning, three-hit effort that also produced five K's.

Crown and the Golden Eagles are ranked #1 in the NJCAA Division III Poll and host Schoolcraft College (MI) in the NJCAA District G Championship Series on Friday, May 17 at 1pm as they pursue a record sixth consecutive national championship.
