Madison's Williams takes home NJCAA Player of the Week

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced Madison College's Aniah Williams as the Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week for January 21-27 (Week 11). The award is the first for Williams and the first for the WolfPack this season.

Williams was a scoring machine as she opened the week with 34 points in a win at Milwaukee Area Technical College, then followed it up with 41 points in a road overtime victory over Joliet Junior College that broke the Madison College women's basketball single-game scoring record. In those two games, the native of Beloit, Wisconsin, made 27 of 55 shots with seven 3-pointers and 14 of 20 free throws. Additionally, Williams posted a double-double against JJC with 11 rebounds, giving her an average of 8.0 rebounds for the week, as well as 3.0 steals per game.

Williams, who ranks 13th nationally with a 22.6 points per game average overall, is currently scoring 29.0 points over her last seven games. She and the WolfPack own a 14-6 mark overall. They will return to action on Saturday, February 2 at Harper College.
