Hecox of Rock Valley repeats as Region IV Player of the Year

The stellar collegiate career of Rock Valley College's Madi Hecox took another giant leap after the sophomore guard was named the Player of the Year for a second consecutive season as she again headlines the list of the 2018-19 NJCAA Region IV Division III All-Region Team. In addition, Hecox, along with Rachel Dumoulin of Elgin Community College and Aniah Wiliams of Madison College, will all received the region's All-American nominations. The Golden Eagles, which won its seventh Region IV title in the last eight years, tied Joliet Junior College for the most all-region selections with three.

Hecox, who also repeated at the North Central Community College Conference Most Valuable Player, averaged 19.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.9 steals in helping RVC to a 25-5 record overall. She and the third-ranked Golden Eagles play Owens Community College (OH) in Perrysburg, Ohio, for the NJCAA District B Championship on Saturday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m. (Live Stats)
