Waubonsee's Beebe averages triple-double, scores NJCAA DII Player of the Week

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Waubonsee Community College's Katie Beebe the Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 18-24 (Week 3). The award is the second such honor for Beebe, who took home the same recognition in Week 5 of her freshman season last year, and the first for the Chiefs in 2019-20.

Beebe, a 6'0" sophomore forward/center, averaged a remarkable triple-double over three games during that stretch, putting up 16.7 points, 21.3 rebounds, and 10.0 blocks. The Oswego, Illinois, native set a school-record with 13 blocked shots, to go along with 12 points and 18 rebounds, in a 98-55 loss at #6 Rock Valley College. Against Madison College, she helped the Chiefs to a 63-44 win with 12 points, a school-record 25 rebounds, and ten blocked shots. Beebe concluded the week with a season-high 26 points, 21 rebounds, and seven blocks in an 82-43 defeat of the College of DuPage. For the week, she amassed 50 points, 64 boards, and 30 rejections.

Beebe currently ranks first in the nation with 152 rebounds, a 19.0 rebounds per game average, and 56 blocked shots, while also averaging 18.9 points. Waubonsee Community College is currently 5-3 on the year.
