Rock Valley sits 7th in Preseason NJCAA DIII Poll

Rock Valley College and the College of DuPage are listed among the top teams in the nation entering the 2017 season. The Golden Eagles are ranked #7 in the Preseason NJCAA Division III Poll released earlier this week, while the Chaparrals are receiving votes.

DuPage has had a two-year hold on the North Central Community College Conference title after just slipping ahead of RVC in 2016. The Chaparrals were 10-0-2 compared to the 10-1-1 mark for the the Golden Eagles. After a 0-0 draw in their first meeting, COD earned a 2-0 win in the regular season finale to clinch the league crown, their third in four years - Rock Valley took the title in the other year. A third meeting in the Region VI Championship finished with a dramatic 1-0 victory for DuPage.

The two teams will meet for the first time in 2017 on September 6 in Glen Ellyn. Rock Valley College begins the new season on August 25 at Illinois Valley Community College, while College of DuPage travels to Herkimer, New York to compete in the Coliseum Kick-off Classic on August 26-17.
