The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced its first weekly national awards recipients for the 2017-18 season, and Joliet Junior College's Hailey Arlis was named the Division III Player of the Week for Week 1 (August 21-September 3). The honor is the first such award for Arlis and for the Wolves this season.

Arlis, a freshman forward, scored 11 goals and registered five assists as Joliet raced out to a perfect 4-0 start to the season. The Minooka, Illinois, native opened the season with a hat trick and an assist in a 9-0 defeat of South Suburban College. She followed it up with a 13-point outing as part of a 10-0 victory against the College of Lake County. In that game, Arlis scored five goals and had three assists. She finished the impressive four-game run with a goal and an assist against Harper College, and a two goal game in a defeat of the College of DuPage.
