Joliet's Nirchi scores NJCAA national recognition

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has selected Joliet Junior College's Miranda Nirchi as the Division III Women's Soccer Player of the Week for August 22-September 2 (Week 1). The honor is the first of the season for Nirchi and the first for the Wolves.

Nirchi, a sophomore midfielder/forward, scored six goals and posted four assists for 16 points as the Wolves started the season 3-1 on the season. In a 6-0 win at Illinois Valley Community College, the Plainfield, Illinois, native notched a season-high three goals and an assist for seven points.

The Wolves are currently ranked #9 in the NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer Poll.
