MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College women's soccer team is beginning to feel pretty comfortable atop the region, as the WolfPack won the 2022 NJCAA Region 4 Division III Tournament to repeat as champions, and earn their fourth crown in six years. Top-seeded Madison College rolled to a 5-0 shutout of third-seeded Harper College in the championship match. Sophomore midfielder Lexi Kulow tallied six points in the win and was named the Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player, while Matt Schwartz received his fourth Region 4 Coach of the Year accolade.

The WolfPack earned a first round bye as the #1 seed, and after the Hawks upset second-seeded Joliet Junior College 2-1 in overtime, the championship matchup was set. Madison College, which beat Harper College twice during the regular season by scores of 2-1, took a 1-0 lead in the 28' on a Liz Foye goal. Kierstin McHugh scored the first of her two goals in the 36', followed by Kulow's scoring strike in the 44'. McHugh and Kulow both added goals in the second half, with Kulow picking up assists on both of McHugh's kicks to the back of the net.

Courtesy of their win, Madison College will host the NJCAA Great Lakes District Tournament for a second straight year, and the field will also include Region 4 runner-up Harper College for a second consecutive time. The four-team tournament will begin with semifinal matches  on Friday, October 28, and conclude Saturday, October 29 with a championship.
