Harper's Carusiello receives NJCAA DIII Defensive Player of the Week

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Harper College's Jules Carusiello as the Division III Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for September 16-22 (Week 4). The award is the first such honor for Carusiello, and the first this season for the Hawks.

Carusiello, a 5'4" freshman libero from Hersey, Illinois, racked up 7.36 digs per set as Harper College went 5-0 during the week. In a 3-0 defeat of Milwaukee Area Technical College, she tallied 27 digs, and then at the Lake Michigan College Quad, Carusiello finished with 22 digs in a sweep of Grace Christian University and a career-high 28 digs in a 3-1 defeat of the host Red Hawks. She currently ranks third in the nation with 304 digs, while also posting a digs per set average of 4.41 on the season.

Carusiello and the Hawks are 12-12 and riding a six-match win streak.
