The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2019 fall sports season, and ten student-athletes representing NJCAA Region IV were recognized. The group includes six All-Americans in volleyball, three in men's soccer, and one in women's soccer. Two student-athletes were named first team, while six received second team and two were honorable mention. Harper College and Madison College each boast a pair of NJCAA All-Americans to lead all Region IV schools.

For a program in just it's sixth year of existence, the Madison College women's soccer team now boasts two Region IV titles and two Region IV Players of the Year after sophomore Jenna Kohrt was the top vote-getter on the 2019 Division III All-Region Team. A 5'6" midfielder from Monona, Wisconsin, led the WolfPack with ten goals, three assists, and 23 points as she earned repeat first team all-region recognition. Kohrt is one of five players that receive NJCAA All-America nominations, as she is joined by Joliet Junior College's Taylor Metcalf and Andrea Villa, Hayly Munoz of Elgin Community College, and Frankie Schiro of Rock Valley College. With Madison College's win in the Region IV championship, freshman Emma Strieker was named Region IV Tournament Most Valuable Player and Matt Schwartz took home Region IV Coach of the Year honors.

College of Lake County sophomore Rachel Moore was as good as they get during the 2019 season, making her an easy pick for the Region IV Division I Player of the Year as the top vote-getter on the All-Region IV Team. The 5'2" forward from Antioch, Illinois, blasted 37 goals, had five assists, and registered 79 points, placing her in the top five nationally in goals and points. Moore leads a five-player group of NJCAA All-America nominees that include Allison Schaar of Moraine Valley Community College, Litzy Corona of Bryant & Stratton College, and Lancer teammates Giselle Raygoza and Annalyse Maze. Moore also took home Region IV Tournament Most Valuable Player honors after scoring a hat trick to propel the Lancers to the Region IV title, while Kevin Talbot received Region IV Coach of the Year.

Lake County rolls to first Region IV title since 2013

GRAYSLAKE, ILL. - The College of Lake County wasted little time in making sure their would be a new champion of the region in 2019. The #1-seeded Lancers racked up a 4-1 victory over #3-seed and four-time defending champion Moraine Valley Community College on November 3. The championship is the third in the last eight years for the College of Lake County, and their first since topping Waubonsee Community College in 2013.

Madison nips Rock Valley for Region IV title

In a rubbermatch between two programs that had each won on the other's home pitch, Madison College continued that trend Wednesday with a narrow 1-0 defeat Rock Valley College to claim the 2019 NJCAA Region IV Division III Women's Soccer Championship. Freshman Emma Strieker notched the game-winner midway through the second half to give the #2 WolfPack the win over the #1 Golden Eagles, and a second region crown in three years.

Rock Valley's Schiro kicks way to NJCAA DIII Player of the Week honor

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Rock Valley College's Frankie Schiro the Women's Soccer Division III Player of the Week for October 21-27 (Week 9). The honor is the first of its kind for Schiro, and the second this season for the Golden Eagles after Madie Miller was recently named the DIII Goalie of the Week for Week 7.

Lake County's Moore named NJCAA DI Player of the Week

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named the College of Lake County's Rachel Moore as the Division I Women's Soccer Player of the Week for October 14-20 (Week 8). The award is the first such honor for Moore, and the first this season for the Lancers.
