MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College baseball dynasty continues to roll on, adding a fifth straight and 11th total NJCAA Region 4 Division II Tournament Championship on May 20. The top-seeded WolfPack finished off a perfect run through the Region 4 field with a 14-8 victory over second-seeded McHenry County College. Scots sophomore Mason Schwalbach smashed seven home runs over four games, including three bombs in the championship game. Mike Davenport of Madison College was given the Region 4 Coach of the Year award.

After sweeping Elgin Community College with a pair of run-ruled wins in the Sectional, Madison College, ranked #7 in the NJCAA Division II Poll, had to rally from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the sixth to win a 2-1 quarterfinal over fourth-seeded Kankakee Community College despite just three hits. In the semifinals, the WolfPack regained their offensive form with six runs in the first three innings against McHenry County College and took advantage of three errors by the 18th-ranked Scots.

Baseballs continued to fly out of Robin Roberts Field, and a two-homer game by Schwalbach helped MCC rally from a 9-2 deficit with a 12-1 run over the final 3.5 innings to win 14-10 and set up a rematch with Madison College. Schwalbach dominated the game with his three round-trippers, but it was a pair of multi-run homers from the WolfPack's Carter Stebane and Carson Shepard that broke a 7-7 tie in the seventh inning and sent the Pack to their 11th region title in the past 14 years.

Madison College (44-10) will make its 12th appearance at the NJCAA Division II World Series from May 27 to June 3 in Enid, Oklahoma. The WolfPack finished national runners-up in 2022 and will be going for the program's fourth national title. They will open as the #4 seed and take on #5-seed St. Johns River State College (44-17) on Saturday, May 27 at 7:15pm.
