Chiefs blanked at national tournament, Trojans eliminated by national runners-up

Postseason play following the Region IV Tournament proved to be a significant challenge for champions, Waubonsee Community College and Triton College. The Chiefs were beaten handily in two matches at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, while the Trojans came a win away from qualifying for the final field of eight in Division III.

Waubonsee College, selected as the tenth seed, opened pool play at the national tournament in Prescott, Arizona, with a resounding 9-0 setback against #3 Yavapai (AZ) College, and finished with an 8-2 defeat at the hands of #6 Mercer County (NJ) Community College. The Chiefs capped the season with a 17-6-1 record.

After claiming the Region IV crown, Triton College defeated Anoka-Ramsey (MN) Community College in the NJCAA District C Semifinal, but had its season end with a 7-0 blanking by eventual NJCAA Division III national runners-up Richland (TX) College in the District C title match. One match short of the national tournament, the Trojans season finished with an impressive 17-1-1 record.
