FOUR-PEAT: DuPage leaves no doubt with fourth consecutive NJCAA Div. III Track & Field Championship

UTICA, NY - Complete and utter domination was the storyline for the College of DuPage as it rolled to a fourth consecutive - and eighth overall - NJCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field championship from May 9-11. The Chaparrals piled up an impressive 206.0 points, the most in the event since 2015. Joliet Junior College as third with 113.5 points behind national runner-up Mineral Area Community College at 130.0 points. Sophomore sprinter Noah Mack repeated him double championship effort from the year prior, with first place finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. Freshman Kevin Diederich was a double winner in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs. Mack, along with Timothy McMiller, Weston White, and Elijah Phipps teamed up to break a 26-year-old meet record in the 4x100 relay with a time of 41.21 seconds. In all, DuPage won championships in nine events, silver medals in five events, and seven third place results. The Chaparrals had a top-three finisher in 15 different events, including taking first, second, and third in the 100-meter sprint. Following the championships, the USTFCCCA named Mack the National Men's Track Athlete of the Year for a second straight year, while the duo of Mallory Dominguez and Floyd Turner were named National Men's Coaches of the Year to go along with their same honor from the NJCAA. Joliet Junior College tallied three gold medals, four silvers, and four bronze medals. Harper College was paced by three runner-up efforts and one bronze medal.
