The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Triton College sophomore Alyssa Stramaglia as the Division II Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 29-April 4 (Week 9). The award is the first such honor for Stramaglia, and the first award this year for the Trojans.

Stramaglia, a righthander from Melrose Park, Illinois, guided Triton College to a pair of wins over Joliet Junior College and McHenry County College. In the 5-1 defeat of the Wolves, Stramaglia struck out seven batters in just three innings and did not allow a single hit or run. The next day, she recorded 11 K's and allowed one earned run on two hits in a 9-1 victory over the Scots in which she tossed five innings. She finished the week with 18 strikeouts and a 1.13 earned run average.
