Region IV DI Player of the Year goes to McCurdy of Malcolm X

The numbers may not jump off the page like other current and previous winners, however, the ability to control a game was undeniable for Malcolm X College freshman Jada McCurdy, who was the Region IV Player of the Year as the top vote-getter on the 2020 Division I Women's Basketball All-Region IV Team. The 5'2" guard from Chicago, Illinois, averaged 9.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 4.9 steals per game as she filled the stat sheets on a nightly basis for the eventual Region IV champion Hawks. McCurdy led the region in steals and was seventh in assists. She finished the year with one double-double. McCurdy, along with teammate Claudine Hurt and Kennedy-King College's Diamonie McKinney, received the region's NJCAA All-American nominations.
