Quartet of women's hoops team represent Region 4 on national stage

Four teams represtented NJCAA Region 4 with appearances at their respective women's basketball national tournaments to cap the 2024-25 season. Joliet Junior College and Rock Valley College both earned a win in tournament play, while College of Lake County and Olive-Harvey College came up empty in their first-ever trips. 

At the 2025 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships in Rochester, Minnesota, #9-seeded Joliet Junior College finished their year with a 17-15 after going 2-1. Following a first round victory over #8-seed Kingsborough Community College by a 65-58 final, the Wolves went toe-to-toe with #1-seed, host, and eventual national champion Rochester Community & Technical College in the quarterfinals. A 64-51 loss dropped JJC into the 5th place consolation bracket, where they dropped a 76-70 game against #5-seed Northland Community & Technical College to settle for 8th place overall

The 2025 NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championships in Joplin, Missouri, saw #17-seed Rock Valley College open with a dramatic 89-85 overtime victory over #16-seed SUNY Niagara in the first round. Much like Joliet, the Golden Eagles then matched up against the nation's top-seeded team in the second round, and took an 84-75 loss to Kirkwood Community College. That dropped RVC into the seventh place consolation bracket, where their season was ended with a 68-55 setback to #8-seed Highland Community College (KS) to finish with a 26-10 record. The College of Lake County was seeded #18 in their national tournament debut and drew #15-seed St. Clair County Community College in the first round. The Lancers were defeated by a 75-70 final, and then lost 73-51 in a consolation game agains t#14-seed Bryant & Stratton College (VA). Lake County was 27-7 on the year.

Olive-Harvey College made their national tournament debut appearances, as well, in the 2025 NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championships held in Casper, Wyoming. The Panthers would suffer a 92-57 defeat at the hands of #10-seed Eastern Arizona College in the first round to close out an impressive 33-2 campaign.
