Region 4 enjoys impressive showing at NJCAA Div. III Women's Golf Championships

CHAUTAUQUA, NEW YORK - Six golfers from Region 4 competed at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at Chautauqua Golf Club, and all six returned with NJCAA All-American honors. The College of DuPage's Haley Cassells earned national runner-up accolades with a second-place finish one stroke ahead of teammate Ivy Burnett. Megan Redig of Rock Valley College was fourth.

In a tournament field of 16 players, Cassells used a late charge in Round 4 to overcome Burnett by a single shot. Cassells finished with a 329 with scores of 83-81-80-85, whlie Burnett posted a 330 after rounds of 80-82-81-87. Ella Soydara of Minnesota State Community and Technical College was the tournament medalist at 322.
Redig signed off on rounds of 85-79-85-86 for a 335, with RVC teammates Bella Rosado in sixth with a 353 total after four days (91-90-84-88) and Aaralynn Schneider placing tenth at 396 (102-93-99-102).
The Chaparrals also received a 401 (103-101-98-99) from Skylar Jollette to place 11th.
