Lake County's Moore named NJCAA DI Player of the Week
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named the College of Lake County's Rachel Moore as the Division I Women's Soccer Player of the Week for October 14-20 (Week 8). The award is the first such honor for Moore, and the first this season for the Lancers.
Moore, a 5'2" sophomore foward, tallied five goals as the College of Lake County earned road wins over Kishwaukee College and Oakton Community College, the last of which clinched the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference title for the first time since 2013. The native of Antioch, Illinois, and the reigning conference player of the year registered two goals in a 3-0 decision with the Kougars before a three-goal, one-assist performance in a 4-1 victory against the Owls.
Moore boasts 27 goals this season, which places her seventh in the nation. She and the Lancers are 9-2 on the season, earning the #1 seed and a home match with #8 Kishwaukee College in the Region IV Division I Tournament Quarterfinal on Sunday, October 27.
Rachel Moore has been a critical component to College of Lake County winning its first Skyway regular season title since 2013.
