The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Rock Valley College's Frankie Schiro the Women's Soccer Division III Player of the Week for October 21-27 (Week 9). The honor is the first of its kind for Schiro, and the second this season for the Golden Eagles after Madie Miller was recently named the DIII Goalie of the Week for Week 7.

Schiro, a freshman midfielder/forward, tallied two goals and two assists as Rock Valley College earned Region IV Tournament wins over Triton College and Joliet Junior College. She registered the only goal of the game on an unassisted strike in the 16' to help top-seeded RVC get by the Trojans in the quarterfinals, and then had a hand in all three goals scored in a 3-0 blanking of the Wolves in the semifinals. That contest saw Schiro post a goal and two assists.

Schiro has a dozen goals and five assists on the season and leads the Golden Eagles in both categories. Rock Valley College hosts #2 Madison College in the Region IV Championship on Wednesday, October 30. Both teams enter ranked in the latest NJCAA Division III Poll.
