Region 4 Hall of Fame welcomes nine-member Class of 2024 for induction

The NJCAA Region 4 Hall of Fame is pleased to announce a nine-member induction Class of 2024. The group includes six student-athletes and three coaches that excelled during their time competing in Region 4. The inductees represent six different Region 4 schools, including two inductees each for the College of DuPage, Oakton College, and Rock Valley College.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2023-24 fall sports season, and 18 student-athletes representing Region 4 were recognized. The group includes six from men's cross country, five in women's volleyball, three from women's cross country and women's soccer, and one from men's soccer. There are eight first team recipients, seven second team honorees, and three honorable mention distinctions. The student-athletes represent eight Region 4 institutions.

Rock Valley puts up a good fight at national tournament

TUCSON, ARIZ. - The Rock Valley College women's soccer team made their first appearance at the NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships in 2023, which also marked just the second national tournament appearance in program history. The Golden Eagles were unable to advance past pool play, and finished their season with a 16-4-3 record.

JOLIET, ILL. & ROCHESTER, MINN. - The Joliet Junior College women's soccer team left no doubt who was the class of Region 4 with a resounding 5-1 win over Harper College in the 2023 NJCAA Region 4 Division III Women's Soccer Championship on October 21. The top-seeded Wolves were led by Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player Jacqueline Torres, while Henry Cheung was named Region 4 Coach of the Year.

Rock Valley rallies for dramatic Region 4 championship win over South Suburban

MADISON, WISC. - It took all 90 minutes to decide a winner in the final match of the 2023 Region 4 Division II Women's Soccer Tournament, and in the end, Rock Valley College rallied from a one-goal deficit to defeat South Suburban College in dramatic fashion on November 4 at Madison College's Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East. The top-seeded Golden Eagles claimed a 2-1 win over the #2-seeded Bulldogs for their first Region 4 championship since 2014, and their first Division II crown since moving up one year prior. Freshman Jocelyn Harms was named Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player, and Kevan Watkins took home Region 4 Coach of the Year recognition.

Magical season yields first Region 4 crown for South Suburban

SOUTH HOLLAND, ILL. - The 2022 women's soccer season will be marked as a historic one at South Suburban College as the Lady Bulldogs won their first-ever NJCAA Region 4 Women's Soccer Tournament Championship. Sixth-seeded South Suburban College was awarded the region title via forfeit against fourth-seeded Bryant & Stratton College. Freshman forward Amaris Gonzalez was named the Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player, and coach Jose "Tony" Gonzalez earned Region 4 Coach of the Year accolades.

Madison College makes it two straight, four in six years with Region 4 title

The Madison College women's soccer team is beginning to feel pretty comfortable atop the region, as the WolfPack won the 2022 NJCAA Region 4 Division III Tournament to repeat as champions, and earn their fourth crown in six years. Top-seeded Madison College rolled to a 5-0 shutout of third-seeded Harper College in the championship match. Sophomore midfielder Lexi Kulow tallied six points in the win and was named the Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player, while Matt Schwartz received his fourth Region 4 Coach of the Year accolade.

Madison College reaches third Region 4 title in five years

MADISON, WISC. - For the third time in five years, Madison College sits atop the Region 4 mountain after beating second-seeded Harper College 3-0 to win the 2021 NJCAA Region 4 Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. The top-seeded WolfPack, who also won Regoin 4 crowns in 2017 and 2019, were led by Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player Sydney Maksymo, a first year defender, and Region 4 Coach of the Year Matt Schwartz.

Defense of spring title for Waubonsee makes for memorable 2021

SUGAR GROVE, ILL. - The women's soccer program at Waubonsee Community College will always remember the 2021 calendar year for a pair of celebrations. The Chiefs claimed a Region 4 title in the spring to cap an altered season, and followed it in the fall with a 1-0 victory over second-seeded South Suburban College to secure the 2021 NJCAA Region 4 Division II Women's Soccer Tournament championship. The program's fifth region crown was highlighted by a Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player award for goalkeeper Isabella Harkleroad and a Region 4 Coach of the Year honor for Brad Schlemmer.
