The NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame is pleased to announce an 11-member induction Class of 2019. The group includes five athletes, six coaches and administrators, one contributor, and one national championship team that excelled during their time competing in Region IV.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2018 fall sports season, and 12 student-athletes representing NJCAA Region IV were recognized. The group includes five All-Americans in volleyball, four in women's soccer, and three in men's soccer. Five student-athletes were named First Team and Second Team All-Americans, while there was one each on the third team and honorable mention. Joliet Junior College, Madison College, and South Suburban College each boast a pair of NJCAA All-Americans.

CHARLESTON, WV - The two Region IV representatives at the 2018 NJCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championships found themselves on opposite sides of net with their season's on the line. Moraine Valley Community College won that consolation matchup to end the season of Carl Sandburg College, however, the Cyclones eventually fell in the ninth place match to close out their 2018 campaign.

ROCHESTER, MINN. - Rock Valley College placed sixth at the 2018 NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball National Championships after picking up two wins and two losses. Entering as the tournament's fifth seed, the Golden Eagles opened with a 3-0 sweep of 12th-seeded Harrisburg Area Community College (PA) before falling in the quarterfinal round to 4th-seeded and host Rochester Community & Technical College (MN), 3-1. Now playing in the consolation bracket, RVC earned a 3-1 victory over 8th-seeded Queensborough Community College (NY) to reach the 5th place game, where they dropped a three-setter to 6th-seeded Lorain County Community College (OH).

Carl Sandburg College freshman volleyball player Peyton Bowman (Sciota, Ill./West Prairie) has been named the Region IV Division II District A Player of the Year, highlighting three Chargers — all products of West Prairie High School — who are on the All-Region IV Team.

GRAYSLAKE, ILL. - Following a pair of three-set sweeps in their respective championship matches, Carl Sandburg College and Moraine Valley Community College each secured a Region IV Division II Women's Volleyball title in 2018. The Chargers were the last team standing in the District A bracket after taking down defending Region IV champion Sauk Valley Community College, 25-15, 25-17, 25-17 to win their second straight region crown. The Cyclones are Region IV champs for a fifth time following their 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 defeat of Waubonsee Community College to close out the District B bracket. Todd Winkler of CSC and Lauren Lorenz of MVCC were named Region IV Coaches of the Year.

The top vote-getters on the 2018 Region IV Division II District A & B All-Region Teams proved that efficiency and versatiilty are valuable traits when it comes to success in athletics. Peyton Bowman of Carl Sandburg College finished second in the nation in attack percentage at .492 and first in the region in kills with 410 to garner the top spot on the District A All-Region team, while Moraine Valley Community College's Noelle Knezz stuffed the statsheet with 228 kills, 224 assists, 179 digs, 41 aces, and 39 blocks en route to earning the most votes on the District B All-Region team. The duo is joined by Kayla Battle of Waubonsee Community College, Macie Good of Sauk Valley Community College, and Moraine Valley's Abbi Fletcher and Amanda Bulow as the region's All-American nominees. Todd Winkler of Sandburg and Lauren Lorenz of MVCC were named Region IV Coaches of the Year after leading their teams to Region IV titles in 2018. In District A, Carl Sandburg, Waubonsee, and Sauk Valley each placed three players on the all-region list, while the Cyclones and Oakton Community College led the District B list with three each.

Compiling the second-most kills in the nation and breaking all of her school's kills records has landed Madison College sophomore Paige Hostetler atop the list of 2018 NJCAA All-Region IV Women's Volleyball honorees, a collection that includes numerous others among the nation's best at their positions. Hostetler finished with 443 kills and a 5.09 kills per set average to lead the region, while also re-establishing new single-season and all-time records for the WolfPack. Joining Hostetler on the list of All-American nominees is Mallory Hecox of Rock Valley College, Harper College's Karolina Sas, and Joliet Junior College's Cuay Whitener. Whitener and Hecox sit third and sixth, respectively, in the nation for kills, while Sas is seventh in digs. Region champion Rock Valley College placed five players on the all-region teams, the most of any team, followed by Madison College with four. Kristy Pierce was awarded the Region IV Coach of the Year.

PALATINE, ILL. - Rock Valley College made quick work of the opposition on Saturday as it swept its way to the Region IV Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament Championship. The top-seeded Golden Eagles defeated third-seeded Harper College 25-19, 25-14, 25-11 to end the Hawks two-year reign atop the region. The title is the first for RVC since 2012.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has selected a pair of NJCAA Region IV players for national weekly honors. Carl Sandburg College's Peyton Bowman and Harper College's Kathleen Gueco were each named the Offensive Player of the Week for August 22-September 2 (Week 1) in Divisions II and III, respectively. The honors are the first of the season for each players and for their programs.
