The NJCAA Region 4 Hall of Fame is pleased to announce a nine-member induction Class of 2024. The group includes six student-athletes and three coaches that excelled during their time competing in Region 4. The inductees represent six different Region 4 schools, including two inductees each for the College of DuPage, Oakton College, and Rock Valley College.

McHenry County uses five flight titles to claim Region 4 championship

PALOS HILLS, ILL. - McHenry County College is back on top of the Region 4 women's tennis mountain after claiming the 2023 Region 4 Division I Women's Tennis Tournament crown on October 13-14 at Moraine Valley Community College. The Scots, who had not won since completing back-to-back championship runs in 2019 and 2020, registered 22.0 points to beat out the second place Cyclones on their home courts. Moraine Valley Community College had 13.5 points, followed by Sauk Valley Community College in third with 9.0 points. Oakton College sophomore Zarina Sayed was the Tournament's Most Valuable Player, and McHenry County College's Jim Stockwell took home Region 4 Coach of the Year honors.

MVCC's Schultz leads Region 4 contingent at NJCAA nationals

TYLER, TEXAS - Several Region 4 teams competed at the 2023 NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships from May 6-9, with region champion Moraine Valley Community College registering its best team finish. The Cyclones racked up 8.0 points to finish 21 out of 29 teams, with Sauk Valley Community College in 26th with 1.0 point and Oakton College tied for 28th.

Moraine Valley pushes to top of Region 4 women's tennis

PALOS HILLS, ILL. - Moraine Valley Community College snapped an eight year drought by claiming the 2022 NJCAA Region 4 Division I Women's Tennis Championship on October 7-8, and did so on their home courts. The Cyclones, who won region titles in 2012 and 2014, finished with 21.0 points to earn a 5.5 point victory over runner-up Sauk Valley Community College. College of Lake County sophomore Mia Falconi was awarded the Region 4 Player of the Year and the Region 4 Sportsmanship Award, while Matt Marusarz of MVCC was given the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2021 fall sports season, and 28 student-athletes representing NJCAA Region 4 were recognized. The group includes six from women's soccer, women's volleyball, and women's cross county, four from men's cross country, and three from the men's soccer and women's tennis. There are 14 First Team All-Americans, 12 second team honorees, and three honorable mention accolades. The student-athletes represent 13 different Region 4 schools.

IVCC walks away with Region 4 title, finishes 3rd at nationals

OGLESBY, ILL. - With very little competition against them, Illinois Valley Community College was crowned the 2021 Region 4 Division III Women's Tennis Champions on October 9-10. The Eagles won every singles and doubles flight to earn nine points and secure their second team title in three years, with no championship tournament held in between due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Karissa Etzenbach of IVCC was named the Region 4 Player of the Year, and Illinois Valley's Julie Milota was awarded the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

Lake County snaps two-year drought with Region 4 title

PALOS HILLS, ILL - Since winning the Region 4 crown in 2018, the College of Lake County women's tennis team has been unable to return to the top of the mountain. The streak ended on October 9 & 10 when the Lancers claimed the 2021 Region 4 Division I Championship held at Moraine Valley Community College. Lake County piled up 20 points to best runner-up Sauk Valley Community College by 3.5 points. Bryant & Stratton College sophomore Nikold Torres was named the Sportsmanship Award Player, while CLC's Jim Love took home Region 4 Coach of the Year.

DIXON, ILL. - The 2020 Region 4 Division I Women's Tennis Tournament witnessed a pair of champions successfully defend their crowns over two days on October 9-10 at Sauk Valley Community College. McHenry County College repeated as the team champions by the narrowest of margins, holding off Waubonsee Community College by one-half point. Bryant & Stratton College sophomore Desiree Ahlberg also claimed a second consecutive individual title in Flight #1, earning her Region 4 Most Valuable Player accolades.

PEACHTREE CITY, GEORGIA - The two representatives of Region IV at the 2019 NJCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships from November 1-3 fared well among the nation's elite. Illinois Valley Community College finished fourth overall with 14 points, while the College of DuPage placed seventh with 6.5 points. Oxford College of Emory University won the team title with 36 points for their fifth consecutive national championship.

PALOS HILLS & GLEN ELLYN, ILL. - A pair of champions were crowned on October 12, with both doing so in run-away fashion as the 2019 Region IV Division I & Division III Women's Tennis Championships were claimed by McHenry County College and Illinois Valley Community College, respectively. The Scots tallied 19.5 points to distance themselves from runner-up Moraine Valley Community College by 7.5 points, while the Eagles registered 17.0 points and defeated second place College of DuPage by seven.

Competitive tennis ruled the weekend as the College of Lake County and Elgin Community College escaped extremely tight points races to capture 2018 NJCAA Region IV Women's Tennis Championships in Divisions I and III, respectively. The Lancers earned 18.5 points to surpass runner-up Waubonsee Community College by 1/2 point, while the Spartans and Illinois Valley Community College came down to a single match in their head-to-head battle.

GLEN ELLYN, ILL. - The depth of the Waubonsee Community College women's tennis team carried the Chiefs to a second consecutive NJCAA Region IV Division I championship on Saturday at the College of DuPage. Waubonsee claimed 17 points over the two-day tournament, narrowly surpassing the 16.5 points of runner-up Moraine Valley Community College. McHenry County College finished third with 13 points. All three will represent Region IV at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis National Championship in Tucson, Arizona, in May 2018.
