Region 4 Hall of Fame welcomes nine-member Class of 2024 for induction

The NJCAA Region 4 Hall of Fame is pleased to announce a nine-member induction Class of 2024. The group includes six student-athletes and three coaches that excelled during their time competing in Region 4. The inductees represent six different Region 4 schools, including two inductees each for the College of DuPage, Oakton College, and Rock Valley College.
Harper's Vilsoet inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame

18 Fall 2023 Region 4 Student-Athletes earn NJCAA All-American accolades

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has released its list of All-Americans for the 2023-24 fall sports season, and 18 student-athletes representing Region 4 were recognized. The group includes six from men's cross country, five in women's volleyball, three from women's cross country and women's soccer, and one from men's soccer. There are eight first team recipients, seven second team honorees, and three honorable mention distinctions. The student-athletes represent eight Region 4 institutions.
Region 4 quartet reps at NJCAA tournaments, DuPage places 5th

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - Four teams represented Region 4 over the course of two separate NJCAA national tournaments inside Alliant Energy Powerhouse Arena. At the NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships, defending champion College of DuPage and Harper College enjoyed successful runs through their respective consolation brackets, while Rock Valley College and Sauk Valley Community College were each done after two matches at the NJCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championships.

Rock Valley, Sauk Valley take different paths to Region 4 championships

MADISON, WISC. - The two 2023 NJCAA Region 4 Division II Midwest District A & B Women's Volleyball Tournament champions reached their pinnacle in two very different ways. Sauk Valley Community College and Rock Valley College survived their respective tournaments to claim the District A and District B titles on November 5. For both teams, it was their first region banner since 2021, and in the case of the Golden Eagles, their first in Division II. Jay Howell of the Skyhawks and Kristy Pierce of RVC were awarded Region 4 Coach of the Year honors.
Malcolm X College wins first Region 4 championship

CHICAGO, ILL. & OTTUMWA, IOWA - Following five years without women's volleyball, Malcolm X College rolled to it's first Region 4 Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament Championship with a 3-0 sweep of Kennedy-King College on November 1. Despite missing All-Region setter Rachelle Cauinian, the Hawks completed a resounding win by scores of 25-5, 25-7, 25-4. The win featured 27 services aces, led by nine from Alejandra Martinez. Nataly Delgado was tops with five kills. John McEleney was named Region 4 Coach of the Year.
Harper takes Region 4 crown for first time since 2019

PALATINE, ILL. - The Harper College women's volleyball used a dramatic come-from-behind 3-2 win over the College of DuPage to return to the top of the Region 4 mountain with its first NJCAA Region 4 Division III Tournament title since 2019. The top-seeded Hawks got past the defending national champion and #2-seeded Chaparrals with a 25-17, 20-25, 10-25, 25-19, 15-10 decision on their home floor on October 25. Abby Major, Eden Suh, and Taylor Knuth led Harper College and were named to the 2023 Region 4 Division III All-Tournament Team, while Bob Viloset was was awarded the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

DuPage's Myers, Koskinaris take home top NJCAA honors after championship run

Nearly a month after putting together an unbelievable run to the school's third NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball National Championship, two key members of the College of DuPage have received the nation's highest praise. Freshman outside hitter Chloey Myers has been named the 2022 NJCAA Division III Player of the Year, while Tolis Koskinaris is the 2022 NJCAA Division III Coach of the Year.

McHenry repeats, Moraine Valley ends drought with Region 4 titles

GRAYSLAKE, ILL. - Following the always grueling NJCAA Region 4 Division II Midwest District A & B Women's Volleyball Tournaments, McHenry County College and Moraine Valley Community College stood head and shoulders above the rest en route to claiming District A and District B championships, respectively. For the Scots, the region title is their second straight and third in four years, while the Cyclones ended a four-year drought en route to their eighth Region 4 crown. Kyle McCall of McHenry County College and Lauren Lorenz of MVCC were named Region 4 Coaches of the Year.
DuPage rides Region 4 title wave, wins third NJCAA National Championship

GLEN ELLYN, ILL. & ROCHESTER, MINN. - The College of DuPage women's volleyball ended a pair of lengthy and significan championship droughts in 2022, winning the NJCAA Region 4 Division III Tournament for the first time since 2003 before claiming their first NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball National Championship for the first time since 1999. Freshman Chloey Myers was named both the Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player and the NJCAA Division III Tournament MVP. Tolis Koskinaris was awarded the Region 4 Coach of the Year, and was joined by his staff in receiving the NJCAA Division III Coach of the Tournament.
